Less Traditional

I’m a big fan of truth-telling and anti-hype in marketing so I appreciate a church website I stumbled across recently referring to their “Less Traditional Worship Service.”

It doesn’t sound all that great but it sure beats the “contemporary worship” service where all the songs being sung are from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.

Things do unfortunately go downhill after this brief moment of truth – right beneath the name of the service is the name of the “praise band,” which is a five-letter acronym. Long acronyms just might be even more irritating than calling a worship service contemporary that doesn’t include music less than a decade old.
